Green Party Presidential nominee Jill Stein arrested for demanding access to a debate. Sanders remains silent.

Jill Stein arrested for demanding access to mass media to promote her campaign for Presidential nominee for Green Party. Sanders the Democrat says nothing.

Sean O'Torain.

A question for all Sanders supporters and this includes the SA the CWI section in the US. Jill Stein has just been arrested for the second time for insisting on her right to have access to the mass capitalist media to take part in the Presidential candidate debates here in the US. This is censorship and repression. I have not heard a word from Sanders on this issue. He should be opposing this censorship and repression. If he does not do so he is a hypocrite. He on occasion says that climate change is the number one issue but here he is staying quiet when the Green Party's best known leader is arrested. Sanders poses as being honest. If he does not speak out on this he is a hypocrite. But then the more Jill Stein and the Green Party gets coverage the more votes Sanders is in danger of losing. His silence on this is like his silence on Zionism and the slaughter of the Palestinian people.  Sounds like the same old dirty unprincipled politics to me.

Why should Sander's be expected to speak-up?

Well Corey, you have this quote on your profile: "....if by a liberal they mean someone who looks ahead and not behind, someone who welcomes new ideas without rigid reactions, someone who cares about the welfare of the people- their health, their housing, their schools, their jobs, their civil rights, their civil liberties.. if that is what they mean by a "liberal" then I am proud to be a liberal. "

Kennedy was a representative of capitalism and prominent in one of its major parties. Sanders claims to be a socialist, a philosophy that calls for the mass of working people to take the levers of society our own hands and produce the necessities of life in a planned rational collective manner. We are not there by any means. But a socialist should stand for what you agree with above and more. There is a dictatorship of political life in this country with the 1% having two parties. The same forces own the media. Their media is denying the working public access to "new ideas" and not even new ideas but varying ones. How can I respect Sanders who can't even stand up and speak out against that? What sort of socialist is that? He's not a socialist he is a dishonest representative of capital and a hypocrite. He is lying to the people he claims to support and who support him

Corey even a person with just a sense of fair play should speak up against the two Green Party leaders being arrested and denied access to the mass capitalist media. Imagine if they arrested Sanders and denied him access to the mass capitalist media. Would you keep silent then. But think of something else. Sanders is always on about the billionaire class. Well it is the billionaire class that is behind keeping the Green Party leaders off their media. And think of something else. Sanders says that climate change is the most important issue facing society. Why then does he not want the voice of the Green Party heard. There can only be one answer. He is afraid it would take votes away from him. This is the same old opportunist politics. Sean.
